Oil Skimmer

Spinclear have developed floating skimmers specifically to complement our Oil / Water separation solutions. These skimmers can operate in small & large pits, tanks, ponds etc and can cope with wide level variation, turbulence, and varying feed rates. These features make Spinclear Skimmers well suited to most skimming applications where removal of floating particles (oil, fat etc) is required.

The core of our skimmers is a semi submerged skimming ring that self adjusts to flowrate, water level, wave action and tilting of the skimmer so that a fine skim is always achieved, thus maximizing floating particles drawing ability.

Our skimmers do not operate like rope or belt skimmers. The skimmers draw in the top layer of water and floating particles in the area. The skimmer can draw floating particles in eliminating the need for contact, thus capturing the floating particles quickly and more effectively to enable higher rates of removal. To achieve this, our skimmers draw in and supply a mixture of water and floating particles. The skim is generally mostly water, in comparrison to rope or belt skimmers where oil output is produced at a much lower rate.

Our skimmers require a non emulsifying pump to draw the skimmed fluid and propel it forward. This pumping is typically carried out via our Skim Pump Set.

The floating particles from our skimmer/s can be separated and held in a small tank with the water being decanted back to the original source. We call this a Oil Holding Water Decant Tank. Alternatively, the skimmer output can be processed in our Oil / Water Separators which will separate out the floating particles as well as fine suspended light particles / droplets.

To draw in all the floating particles, it may be necessary to apply several of our skimmers at strategic locations where particles accumulate, due to current or wind effects.

Our floating skimmers come with a length of very flexible suction hose that allows the skimmer to move up and down with water level variation. This, in association with a swivel joint, allows the application to operate in small pits and tanks.

Where there is little water level variation, fixed versions of our skimmers can be applied. These are smaller and are an alternative option where space or access is limited.

S40

FEATURES:         Skimming element (donut) that floats independently to the skimmer body and adjusts automatically to varying flows and movement of the skimmer. Swivel joint and 1.5 meters of very flexible suction hose allows application in small pits and tanks.

Skimmer outside floats that act like bumper rollers to minimise risk of skimmer hang-up on walls or protrusions.

Non Return Valve to maintain suction line prime.

Perimeter grill that limits large debris being skimmed. In fatty applications this grill can be adjusted up to allow passing of larger clumps.
